Do I need to imagine myself as growing taller or already being tall?

You can visualize yourself in any way that you find more natural for you.  Ultimately whether you visualize yourself as growing taller or as already being tall, you will end up imagining yourself as already being tall.  The most effective method is the one that helps you better to experience the feeling of being as tall as you desire to be, and if you find it easier or more convincing to begin from the height you’re at and imagine and feel yourself growing until you reach your desired height, do it that way.  On the other hand, if you get more of that feeling of being the height you desire going straight to your final outcome and imagining already being that height, do it that way.

If you are engaging in different kinds of visualizations, imagining yourself growing in different ways, or using different kinds of symbolic representations of height increase and body elongation, then in different scenarios you may prefer to use a different approach.  Some people like to work with metaphors where they’d imagine their legs or body being elastic like something that in their experience stretches easily, or that their legs and body are easily extendable like something else that in their life experience stretches easily, or that their legs and body grow as easily and naturally as something that grows easily in nature.  The ideal metaphor would depend on one’s personal interest, background and experience.  It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it makes sense to the person using it and it helps the person to get more of that growing taller feeling.

You don’t have to stick to one imagery.  You may keep on experimenting with different kinds of imagery and each time you engage in your grow taller meditations use the one that feels just right for you at that moment.  it’s like choose what do you want to eat today, except that here you are feeding your subconscious mind with the idea of height increase which you desire to impress upon it.  What you imagine is not as important as experiencing the feeling of the reality of your body growing taller.  As for the imagery, you are impressing an idea upon your subconscious mind, and that idea may be a literal image of what you want or it may be a symbolic representation of what you want – either way if you know what the image you hold in your mind stands for for you, then so does your subconscious mind.

It doesn’t matter whether the image or symbol you pick is from the real world – like imagining a plant growing easily, or it is from your science fiction or some movie you’ve seen with special effects – anything will do.  You can think of yourself as a superman or a magician, or simply think of your body as elastic and malleable and able to change easily.
